Omnifax Error Codes

Omnifax L41,L42,L46: To enter service mode, Function, 5,1,9,9,1 Yes. To print a service report at Enter Service Mode prompt: No, Yes, Start. To print error list at Enter Service Mode prompt: No, No, Yes, Start. To scroll through the service mode keep hitting No, until you find the mode you are looking for. To print Activity Report: Function 41, Yes, Start.

Activity Report: Lift quick dial panel, Report, Enter. Enter Service Mode via Function #, *, 123 then press Enter to print current settings. Exit Service Mode via 0, 0, 1, Enter.

Omnifax L630,L8000: Call serviceman "H" Problem with the fuser getting not hot enough or too hot. Normally a bad thermister. Can also be a cracked hot roller or blown thermal fuse. If thermal fuse is blown replace thermister as well.

Omnifax L630, L8000: Document jams, catching paper in hole that feed rollers come up through. Replace white bushings that the ADF roller turns on.

Omnifax L630, L8000: Black streaks running the length of the paper. Clean the charge corona on the drum unit. Manufacturer rates drum units at 35,000 copies. I find that they usually last about 20,000.

Omnifax L40,41,42,46,47,540 Black streaks, looks like Cincinnati Bengal helmets. Clean charge corona, if cleaning fails replace erasure unit which houses the charge corona. These will usually show up in the fall and the spring, when changing from air conditioning to heating and back again.
